I don't have much of a sweet tooth but when I do get the odd craving for something sweet I really go to town.
This scenario usually ends up with an entire tub of Connoisseur ice cream being devoured and a bad junk food hangover on the cards.
Yes, ice cream is my weakness when it comes to sweet food and so I was interested to note the launch of a new range of low-fat ice cream products, The Skinny Cow.
According to the website, the range is the "first portion-controlled ice cream range in major Australian supermarkets to be 97% fat free and have no sugar added". I really shouldn't spend too long thinking about that claim because all it makes me visualise is a group of marketing boffins sitting around a table coming up with the perfect tagline to disguise what's in the other 3% of the product.
I'm actually finding the whole marketing strategy on the website a big naff. It features a cow with a better figure than me and sporting a full face of make up who is trying to sell me ice cream by ingratiating herself as some sort of shopping buddy.
Anyway, currently The Skinny Cow comes in two varieties - sundae cups and ice cream sticks. The English Toffee Sundae caught my eye - "low fat English toffee flavoured ice cream with rich caramel flavoured swirls".
